The Powerflite was standard in the 59, I remember because I'm old.

My 59 Belvidere was a powerflite, my 60 Fireflite was a torqueflite as was my 61 Seneca. So I'm guessing the last year for the powerflite was 59.

Hard to believe in 60' The LAPD Insisted on ordering 330 Police cars with the Powerflite. In addition, the engine and transmission had to use the same oiling/Lubrication system. They reportedly had no problems.

Fleets hate change. They like to stay with what they know.

Btw, you can still buy a new Power Glide.
