went to install my bracket and the mounting holes on the bracket doesn't align up and the mounting hole for the back side of the pump is about 7/16" off the mark and the main bracket is about bent to around 105° instead of 90°

which i can stick in a vice and bend it to shape. granted i'm doing it the hard way and not disconnecting the ps hoses

Pics and a little more info will help with the diagnosis. (engine, AC?, etc.)

I put one of these on my 4DSD with no issues. I did remove the pump and lines. Made it a lot easier.

My car has AC but the bracket worked anyway. Solid as a rock and no more leaks.

Hope the input helps.

I was curious, so I googled this. This pic is from the Hoffman Winners Circle site. It looks to me like that bracket is not 90°.

Your pump looks a little different than mine. The return line is in a different place.

I snapped a couple of pics with a flashlight and my cellphone:

My pump only uses one of the holes on the back like yours. It's been 6-7 years since I installed the bracket, but it all pretty much lined up and dropped in.

You may have a different generation of the same pump.

Sorry I can't be more help.

the one with the return line is from 1970 m.y.

After looking at your pics again, it looks like you can probably "persuade" the bracket to reach the holes in the pump.

Hope the input helps.

it's going on a 68 I have two pumps one from a 70 and the other a 68 (one of the 68 pump the pulley is all out of wack, the reason why I replaced it with another from a 68) I only have the one from 70 is due to when my brother had his Newport many about 14 years ago, which he doesn't remember why he had to replace it... it's just a pump for me to use or whatever with

i'll get more pics with my old pump that came out of my car tomorrow

here it is with the return tube in the proper location...

gonna take my losses and effort i put into this bracket. i wallered out the hole on the back to make it fit. (took about 1.5 hrs of work doing that) went to mount it up on the car nothing lined up pulley was out of alignment the bottom bolt for the adjustment could not be inserted, wasn't lining up...

which i think i got a friday build quality bracket

it's a a hit and miss i'm not too worried about and not making a big stink over it
