Im purchasing a 65 300 convertable. Can anyone tell me what the maximum wheel size and tire I can put under the rear while running fender skirts?

I know the tires are 275/60-15, but I'm not sure if the wheels are 8" or 10" on this 65 300

Thanks for the reply guys. Been awhile since I've owned a C body. I had a 67 Fury years ago and had a 295/50/15 on the back. The rear wheel well was quite wide

If your purchasing new rims and calculate the maximum back spacing you can go pretty huge outback with the skins. The wheel tubs on these cars are huge. I have tires on the rear of my '65 Fury that are damn near 11 inches wide and still clear the leafs by 1 1/2 inches.

Sorry to revamp a old thread but, I have been searching for wheel and tires sizes and found the wheels that I wanted on ebay..... now I just found this thread/picture and those are the wheels that I thought would look good on my car. I was right they look great. I was thinking of going 17 X 7 (215/65R17) instead of 15's but non the less, they look great.

These are a totally different car than our Polaras.
the 65-66 being the slab style an the 69 and up being a fuselage styling.

do yourself a favour. buy a percy wheelrite simulator # 01201 from a place like summit. you can use it over and over again on any vehicle and never screw up if you use it right. only about 80 bucks. cheap if you think about it. once you buy wheels and tires you are stuck with them if you **** up.

Whats a good size with a 14 inch rim? 235/70? I've got a 66 NY'er. Also, any recommendations, cause I dont see a lot of options for 14s

14's. They don't look small to me. Fills up the wheel opening perfectly.
