Has anyone used the Strut Rod Bushings from Rare Parts #RP15450?

Yes they are much more costly at $75/set vs the standard Moog K7019a that can be purchased on eBay for $16.25

The only visual difference I see is that it comes with a different type sleeve (one for each bushing) rather than the factory tubular one for each pair.

The bushing set from Rare parts is stated as "High Performance" and I attribute that to the sleeve design. With a collared sleeve for each bushing I'm thinking that it provides a more rigid support of the bushings on the strut rod vs the factory sleeve being just slipped thorough both front/rear bushings.... I'm not an engineer so I don't know.

Another visual difference is the dome side of the retainer is flipped upside down rather than capping the bushing as the factory install. I don't know if the orientation really makes a difference. I could just orient the retainer upright as the factory (pictured in 1st shutterfly photo).

I reached out to Rare Parts tech dept. to inquire as to the correct installation and they indicated to install as received. They also stated that they did NOT manufacture the bushing set, but that they were OLD MOOG Stock.

I did however find a similar Moog bushing set oriented the same, but for a different year/make/model vehicle.

The 7019A moog bushing has a improved design part number that is K 7027 as shown in my old moog catalog.

Thanks John,

Summit carries the K7027 bushing and as pictured the retainer is meant to be flipped upside down as well. That said, looks to be the same bushing set Rare Parts is stocking and said to be old Moog stock. The improved design must be Rare Parts interpretation of "High Performance".

I'll forward the K7027 info and work it out with Rare parts.

UPDATE:

Went to Moog's site and they show K7027 as being a DISCONTINUED ITEM even though they show a price of $50.17 with the Option for Special Order http://www.moog-suspension-parts.com/moog-k7027

Summit shows K7027 on their site for $49.95 with the earliest available date of being 12/10/15. I called Summit to inquire if the part was in deed available and the rep said he'd have to call Moog to confirm. I mentioned to him that Moog's site shows the part as being DISCONTINUED so the rep asked me to hold and he would call Moog directly and find out.

The rep comes back online and informs me that "K7027 IS A DISCONTINUED PART" and therefore cannot be sourced by them. I then suggested that Summit remove the part from their site which he said he would make the request.

That said, if you anyone needs to replace their strut rod bushing, the bushing set alone is available directly through Moog for $23.43 or Summit for $17.97 , eBay $16.25 as well as other vendors. However, if you want the improved design/upgraded version it would have to be sourced from Rare Parts for the premium price of $75.

For what it's worth, I will say that visually comparing the bushings rubber composition from K7027 (actual) vs the photo that Moog shows on their site, the bushing from K7027 does look more (dense) heavy duty. I also believe the individual sleeves in K7027 (one for each bushing) would provide more strength and rigidity to the strut bushing than just the single factory sleeve that slips through both the front/rear bushing. As they say, you get what you pay for and it's the law of economics of supply/demand.
