That car is destroyed! ! Even if you fixed it you'd be upside down. It's a v6 with 117,000 miles. I'd say 8,000 plus to repair it.

how does a person even get to TRY to repair a car like this? i mean aren't there "rules" to stop somebody from even TRYING to fix a wreck like this?

seems like an insurance company takes one look at this thing and writes a check for owner to put toward buying something else...assuming it was insured.

Salvage/branded title. I'm sure the car was totaled. The fix is to clip it. I've done a couple wreck rebuilds, a salvage and a fire (Dodge Avenger and a Porsche 911). I was at one shop and they had 2 Mazda MX6's several years ago. One was wrecked in the front, and one in the back. Same color cars, both totaled. The interior was removed. Basically the guy cut the car at the A pillar and the rocker panel on both. He took the 2 good sections & welded together in just a few hours. It was a drivable car later on in the day needing only a minor paint touch up.

hmm..take two and make one. i have of course heard of "salvage" titled cars but never owned one.

guess i (others of you maybe?) am surprised what the "starting point" might have been for the repair (i.e. what did it look like/what was done) on a salvage title.

thx.

Interesting to note that when you look at the mess on the back the rear chassis rails are intact, it's only the sheet metal pushed forward over the top, but really, $2000? might pay for the paint job after it's fixed.

Here's my first and last plug for them and I'll leave it at that.

That chassis was a Mercedes design.

Add another zero, and you still aren't close to fixing this! My son's '99 Malibu got rear-ended by a Samurai a few years back. Didn't look like a lot of damage, but there was over $3,500 with what looked like a torn bumper cover and a pushed-in 5mph bumper!

$2,000 damage, my ***.
