I finally got a day to work on my 1978 NYB. I serviced the 8.25 rear axle. I found 2 axle tags on the cover bolts. One had 2.7 which is a 2.71 axle. I saw a hand painted 17 on the end of the pinion gear... makes sense for a 2.71 axle. The other tag had 3577 on it. I'm guessing production date maybe? 35th day of 1977? Does anyone know?
