I am installing speakers in the rear beach seat location in my '66 convertible. It never had a speaker before. I just realized when the top is up you will see the back of the speaker.

Was this covered or boxed in from the factory or could you see the speaker?

My 70 has a plastic cover that goes the width of the seat and covers the speaker.

There's a vinyl cover that Legendary sells.

You can kinda see it in this pic.

Here's another view of that cover

My 68 convertible has this very thin / fragile plastic cover over just the speaker but it is on top of the fiberboard that runs along the length of the seatback ...small cracks around the screw holes in the cover = I will probably end up fabricating a replacement out of fiberglass sooner or later! I will post up pics of my cover in a little bit

Different for '65/'66 guys. What 300Rag and I posted is the correct part.
Yes this is true. I have not been able to locate one yet. I found one site and they said it is no longer available, and I opened the 212 page legendary catalog and never found it in the catalog. On with my search.

Call Legendary directly they may have it..

Per my catalog, the p/n is SC65CFMP050(C). Strange they only list it for a '65 and not a '66.

I got my bench speaker cover today. I am very happy they have the pattern to make things like this. It was made and shipped in less than a month, quoted 6 weeks.

Now I just need my chromed pieces back and I can put it back together.

Interesting conversation as on my '70 the boot covers the speaker when the top is up.

It sounded like you didn't have the plastic cover and the boot is the only thing covering the rear of the speaker.
