i just "inherited" my brothers rear window defogger that he never installed in his 70 newport (from when he owned one) took me about 30 minutes to get the motor to run freely it was nice and gummed up a bit. works great now...

question is about the wiring, which i'm going to have to rig up.

the fsm says that power comes from the acc. spot from the fuse block. does that part get the power from the key switch and should i run it from a relay? whenever i get around to installing it,

it's just a fan and ducting and two hoses...

It is a special cable to get the two speed, at least as wired from the factory. They used a two position switch (high/low/off), one of the two wires was a resistor wire and near the fan they were spliced together.

I'd have to look at the wiring diagram but you could just put a tap on the accessory buss on the fuse block, they is a mail terminal just for that.

you wouldn't know what the resistance of that wire would be do you?
