I have a mostly hypothetical question. Is it possible to have someone, such as a Auto Broker actually purchase a car for you by making payment for you and handling you signing paperwork remotely but the "broker" acting as a courier of that paperwork? It would seem this could be done in the same way attorneys do this to settle estates etc., but I didn't know if anyone knew of a car company that did this sort of thing. My internet searches indicate Auto Brokers only get the seller to agree on a price but the deal must still be made by you in person. Is this true? Travel is not possible at this time.

So, I've kind of debated a simaliar situation. In the future I intend to buy a car from TX as a DD. Since my brother lives there once I locate the car I'll issue him a POA for the sole purpose of purchasing the car. The Year, Make, Model and VIN will be spelled out on the POA. I don't know how challenging this would be to do through someone that you may not have a good "trust" level with.

Yes and no... each state is different.

In FL the tax collector is where titles are done... there are a few title agencies who are willing to act as an agent for the public, most only serve dealers. I've had to have paperwork overnighted back and forth, but was able to get title and plate done remotely... had I been in FL, I could have done it all myself, but then you depend on the seller to get the paperwork completed on their end and shipped to you.

PA still has public notaries do this, right? You may find it can done via notaries if you pay for both sides of the transaction. Notary license apparently isn't that hard to get. Food for thought, I used to use AAA when I lived there.. might make for a smooth transaction... ask them.
