I need to remove the strut rods for the hood on my parts car,and it's been a couple years since I last did it, and I'm not feeling quite as bold about shoving a big pry bar in there and letting them do whatever they feel like. Is there a proper (safe) way to remove them? I can't seem to think of any way other than letting them fly, and I don't need anything broken. Any hints or tips appreciated!

Wrap a chain around them and something solid like the frame rail and bolt the ends of chain together so they can’t fly and smack you in the side of the head, or worse.

I'm dumb, I have always skipped right by the part in the FSM that tells you exactly what to do. :BangHead:

A quick, hard pull on a pry bar towards the windshield, and push the hinge towards the engine bay and done. Small victories.
