Obituary for JAMES BEST - Beloved as Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane on “The Dukes of Hazzard”


HICKORY, N.C., April 6, 2015—James Best, the actor best known for his portrayal of bumbling yet endearing Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane on TV’s “The Dukes of Hazzard,” died at 9:28 p.m. ET Monday after a brief illness and complications of pneumonia. He was 88.

Rip Rosco. He was in a lot of other shows in the 50's and early 60's. My favorite being a Twilight Zone fan was this episode Jess Belle.

That's very sad. Every Saturday in the early '80s, The Dukes of Hazzard, 3pm on BBC1. I was in heaven when it would be on. Hooper (1978) with Burt Reynolds, another fav.

Had a very long career, a very talented person. He will be missed.
