This car look familiar....like a week or two ago.

Yep, I recall now. He must not of had enough interest in this one or discovered something terrible about it.

Never noticed these black plugs before, were they drilled later for Ziebarting o.sth. or was this already there from the factory ?

Those are post delivery rust proofing plugs. Most likely Zeibart or perhaps Rusty Jones.

Found Ziebarting etc. also the most likely, but wondering why they put in so many normally they used a flexible tube that needed only one bore for such a section.
Good condition of such cars often shows this was no waste of money, even cars that only had one or two applications in earlier years tend to have a lot better condition than untreated ones.

I have seen good and bad results, depending on the people doing the work. The work done was hidden from view and the only time anyone would see the spray was if the car was taken apart. I've personally seen just a small spray around the plugs and none elsewhere.

It also would clog the drain holes built in the doors and panelsand make things rust faster.

That's true, proper application was a must.

My car was Zeibarted before it rolled out of the dealer. I have never seen a car with so much rustproofing. In this case the installer did an outstanding job. And when i got this car it was still rust free. The down side is it's on everything. I am now a believer in the stuff.

The son of the founder of Ziebart company is a member of the Chrysler 300 Club IIRC and owns several letter cars.

My NYB was ziebarted too...I have no idea when.

I had my truck done with 7 miles on the odometer....I believe in the stuff too. My bedliner was factory sprayed.

Rusty Jones was pure crap and literally a scam.

I think a lot of the dealer applied rust proofing was a scam. My Dad had his new 74 Satellite rustproofed at the dealer. I think it was a Quaker State product. When he had a rust through on a front fender, he was told the guaranty was worthless because the rust proofing company had gone out of business.
