I have been looking for a station wagon for my fiancé and I believe that I have stumbled across a fake or scam listing.
It’s for a 1961 Chrysler New Yorker hardtop. I had sent the ‘seller’ a message (email) via the website and hadn’t heard from the seller for a couple of weeks, but finally did.
He stated that he was working 16 hours a day, out of the country, but would sell the car to me.
The price he cited was $12.9k including shipping and a 3 day inspection period where if I wasn’t happy with the purchase, he’d have the car picked up at his expense!
The car apparently is in Seattle at the shipping companies storage facility.
I proceeded with the deal and I received another email from ‘the shipping company’.
There was ‘documentation’ on the sale and a contract was included, including details on how to wire the $.
I thought about the entire deal and I believe that it’s a hoax.
The pictures of a car are fabulous.
However, just the shipping would be 1/4 of the purchase price.
I have blocked the ‘seller’ and the ‘shipping company’ and will continue to look for something where there’s a phone number and a more realistic story.
I looked up the address of the shipping address on Google maps and attached a picture of the address.

I apologize for the delay. I have been swamped at work. Since I'm quite busy with my job and unable to travel back to the States, I have decided to hire a company to ship the car and take care of the sale for me. The shipping & payment part of the transaction will be handled by Pemberley Ltd. The car is now located in their transit warehouse in Seattle, WA because I had a buyer from that area but he canceled the deal due to personal reasons. They have in their custody both the car and the title signed for release, which had been verified by their inspectors and they already gave the go ahead to begin the transaction. The car comes with a large collection of history files, manuals, brochures and receipts.
Regarding the payment, there is a 3 days inspection period available for you once you receive the car in which you have the possibility to do an inspection to any authorized service of your choice before the company will release any money to me. If you decide not to keep it for any reason the car will be sent back to me (free of charge for you) and you will get a full refund with no questions asked. So basically I only receive the money if you are happy about what you are buying.

Your order has been approved by our Finance Department and the Purchase Contract and Shipment Bill has been issued in your name. These documents are attached at this email along with the Shipment Receipt.
The bank account where your payment should be sent can be found at the bottom of the purchase contract.
Next step to be taken:
Complete the mutually agreed payment of US $12,900.00 and send us the bank scanned receipt / screenshot from your online bank so we can begin the delivery process. Your payment is going to be held in our account until we receive your vehicle inspection confirmation or the vehicle inspection period of 3 day(s) expires.
Do not insert any other comments or words in your Payment Reference. Our system only needs the specified Payment Reference (PE16662029781UN) to recognize your payment.
After your payment is secured in one of our protection accounts, we are authorized to start the shipping procedures. We will confirm the scheduled delivery time and date.
Upon the receipt of the vehicle, an ID card (copy) or Passport (copy) is mandatory.
Depending on the chosen delivery method, it's possible that the tracking information might not be visible immediately.
