I collected some of this info awhile (3years) ago when I did mine and its about time I finish it and post it. I updated some of the links cuz some stuff has been discontinued. My 69 fury was originally a power drum car so no need for pedal changes and I didn't even need a proportioning valve. All totaled, with booster and master, about $650-$700.

**they did not fit perfectly so with some pliers bent the edges in just a bit and then they would hammer in.

Brake hoses. I got these and had to grind off the mounting bracket. Seems weird asnd I thought I did something wrong but I was dead set on the long 17" ones. I’m sure you could find a caddy hose with right length without the mounting bracket. The ones below do not show up in the RA list for the Caddy, but they are compatible.

Rear RH lugs - WAGNER BD61235 $5 **with new RHT rotors the only LHT wheel would be drivers rear. I didn’t want that.

Calipers, the ones I got are below but they are discontinued. Pick what you want from this list. Since you likely will not have a core assume $140 for both if you choose pre-loaded.

***and by the way since these calipers are from a RAM 1500 I looked on ram forums to see what they are doing to improve braking. One of the obvious answers was to use calipers from RAM 2500. So I bought these first. They were slightly too big to fit into the Scarebird adapter. I think with grinding they would have worked fine. But I wimped out.

In case its not obvious those are just the parts I chose and worked for me. There are plenty of other options that will work. Some cheaper, some more expensive. I think you can get drilled/slotted rotors, painted calipers, etc. I was looking for calipers on craigslist or pic-a-part to save $$ and shipping $$. Even for a crappy core. The Scarebird list really just gives you applications, not specific part numbers. That is why I chose Rock Auto first because of how reliable the application-to-part correctness is. Prices are good too but shipping can get expensive and because of that searching other sites for the same part number you found in RA can be cheaper.

Oh yeah, stopping power is great. Of course I'm comparing to my system where the only thing that was working were the front drums. Back lines were rusted shut...with no leaks.
 
Thanks for that posting! When I first discovered the Scarebird conversions, I though it was neat as it was all sourced from salvage yards or the local auto supplies, rather than being from aftermarket vendors who might not be there years later. But as most of these vendors now have some staying-in-business "power", they might deserve consideration, too, as the older OEM replacement parts are now becoming more scarce. Still, for many people, the Scarebird approach has merit.

I always like OEM-level approaches rather than an "adapted" aftermarket approach, in general. BTAIM.
