Does anyone out there have a source for the hex head shape rivets that attach the S/N plate to the dash pad? I had to remove mine when I sent my dash in to get restored. Thanks

Perfect, Thank you.
These hex shaped rivets have been in the back of my mind ever since I drilled them out 7 or 8 years ago. I learned to save every piece no matter how damaged, until replacements are installed.

I used the ECS rivets and the transfer and I was pretty happy with the results. You have to follow their instructions to the letter for the transfer, but it's all good.

It's an expensive rivet, and it made for a much more careful use of the rivet gun, but it came out nice.

A better move would to not removed them till replacements are in hand. On the 67 the VIN is attached to the door post and I waited till I had the rivets in hand before I drilled them out, they were also chrome.
The 68 and later have them in the dash so you need to remove them to have the pad restored. Common practice here is to cut the backs off and save the heads, when you get your pad back just epoxy the tag back on and the rivets.

Since you live N.D. Byron Fettig used to have some.

Yes, I get out to Bismarck a few times a month. I bought an oil pan and a power steering pump housing from him a few years ago. The thing that was most amazing was the stack of carb cores stacked along one side of his garage wall. I will have to check on the rivets. Thanks
