I remember that we had discussed shipping cars across the country before a long time ago but I cant find the thread anymore.
Who can tell me a reliable shipper of cars who can do long distance from the east coast to the west coast without breaking the bank?

I used Jim at Truly Vintage. Great guy. It can take a while to fit into his schedule but is worth it. He treats every car like it's his own, drives slowly and carefully, etc.

I used Coast to Coast to ship my sport fury from Detroit to Boston and was very happy with them.

Cool, thanks for all the links, now just gotta decide who is best. I am sure it will depend on what areas they do too but Ill work it out.

I use Dave Fountain at Alpine Transport. He is a broker, but he gets me the best prices always and the best transporters. I recently had a 1964 Polara 4 door that was non-running transported from PA to CA for $1400, and it was shipped in an enclosed container by train and then transported by flatbed from a local city to my door. The transporting company was CFR Rinkens. He managed every detail like it was his own car being transported. Usually other carriers use 8 or 9 car haulers and then require drop off at a large parking lot and then you have to go get it from there. This was much better and lower price, and the car arrived with no issues. His contact is 712 210-4019 or 515 207-1494. He is out of Iowa but knows his shippers and gets things lined up quick. He seems to get the best prices for coast to coast shipping.
