Had a friend recommend that I pick up a set of '85-'91 318 #302 Heads for my 318, just wondering if these heads will work correctly on my block and any issues I might face with them (Ie fitment issues: Intake-heads, heads-block)

I have already picked up a set of '71 360 truck Exhaust Manifolds (they were cheap and I was told they will increase the flow a bit)

Thanks

Nick

No issues, they are still the LA heads with the oiling through the heads and rocker shafts, they are a swirl port head and are the closed chamber design, vs. the open chamber #308 360 heads.

You should have them checked for cracks before you invest any time or money on them. The #302 heads are the small port heads, so there will be a substantial step on the intake ports if you are running an aftermarket or a 360 intake with them.

Not sure about the 360 truck manifolds, as they are both center dump. May not fit on driver side (steering clearance issues). I have a pair of 96 360 van manifolds on my 71 Polara. Both rear dump, and according to the Mopar Small Block book, flow as good or better than the "best smallblock manifolds", the 68-70 340s.
Also, which pistons are you using? If keeping the stock 69 block and factory 69 pistons, those 302 heads will build a stout little engine. Stock compression in 69 was 9.25 with open chambers. Add approximately .75 if swapping to the 302s, for a net compression of 10 to 1. Don't let the nay sayers tell you that's too high, I know of an engine that uses this combo plus a little machine work for a net of 10.33, and it is street driven. Often.

I'm going to keep the stock internals, I figure to not mess with anything I don't need to, will check everything while I have it apart. Actually ended up trading the scrapyard my 360 truck manifolds for a set of 1989 318 "Heavy duty" (according to the VIN) exhaust manifolds which are rear dump. In very nice condition at that. Eventually I'll also go to 4 barrel intake and a 550-600 CFM carb (as recommended by a friend of mine who had a '69 D100 he did the same swap on)

Thanks.

Nick

Been looking for the #302 heads with no luck did find a '88 Ram with a 360, So here's another question, what heads would these be and would they work? What will I also need off this engine in order for it to work correctly on my engine.

Nick

Word of warning, mix & matching LA and Magnum parts get tricky and sometimes require machining.
