SMS (have you had problems with them?)

I have been waiting for almost six months for SMS to supply the red vinyl and leather for my red '62 Chrysler 300 convert. When it was the first 12 weeks the established upholster called them back and they said they lost or never had his order. He routinely deals with them for many of his 40 years he has been in business. Now has five full time people doing the work.

I haven't but the net and my upholsterer have. Have to order something for redoing the seat in my Cougar for which I am in no rush. Although 6 months would be a bit ridiculous.

never any issues when they said they had it in stock - two-three weeks max from order to delivery.

never had a case (almost 20 times in past 10 years) when they did NOT have the OEM material IN stock thoough.

Did Legendary not have your seat covers in stock? They source SMS for their material so they are of high quality.

I ordered a pre-sown headliner from SMS. If I remember correctly, it took them 3 months from my order to send it. It cost me $265.00 plus shipping (and customs at port). The fabric was exactly OEM. I sent them a hand made sketch drawing with major measurements on it as a template, so they didn't have to search for that one.

No problems there if you have the patience to wait. 8 to 10 weeks is the norm on most made-to-order stuff around here, at least. - However, to me at least, six months for seat covers would be unacceptable, if they in no way informed of a possible delay beforehand.

I ordered a pre-sewn headliner was told four to six weeks, called after six weeks and they said they needed to know how many bows there were, glad I called. Took another four weeks after that.

OEM seat fabric and headliner came within a few weeks. Sent my door panels to them and that took a bit longer but they did a first class job.

Even if you're not in a big hurry I would still call from time to time just as a friendly reminder.
