Hey guys,

I have been helping my friend restore a few mopar police cars over the last few years, and finally decided to join here, and track the restoration this time. We have done two 69 Polaras, one was a retired CHP car that we brought back to its glory, and added a little bit of attitude, another was a 70 CHP Polara, and we did a blues brother's monaco. This new car is a 1968 Police Polara, complete with authentic bullet holes. When we are done with it, it should look like it came right out of The Vanishing Point. Trickiest part (Always is) is going to be the dash pad... its like the Grand Canyon...

so if anyone knows of a 68 polara dash, that would be an excellent start!

Wish me luck!

Alex

Welcome to the site from the Motor City! Let's see what you're starting with.

Welcome to the party Alex. Wize man say if you wish in one hand and poop in other your wish will never be granted and other hand will become vary yucky. Moore's Auto Salvage in Rapid City, S.D. sayz they have 3 four door '68 Polaraz. I wouldn't think a dash would be a big ticket item but be for warned that they are very proud of their stuff. Take a tour of their Dodge inventory and make a note of the stock#s of those three '68s and call 'um. (workz way better 'N quicker then the internet) Jer

Welcome to the forum, I think I know of the 69 CHP car you mentioned although I have not seen it.

I am nearing the end of my 69 CHP restoration targeting Spring Fling as its first show.

You mentioned doing a 70 CHP Polara, probably a 71 as they didn't use a Dodge in 70.

I was very happy with the dash pad I had done at Just Dashes, a little pricey but nice.

Again Welcome,

Alan
