Hi! I have a 1977 NYB 4-door and it has the non-tilt/telescope steering column - has the gold or light tan interior. I also have a 1977 NYB two-door model car I am using to rob parts from that has at tilt/telescope coulumn but it is dark brown. I am wondering if I can paint this column and the steering wheel with flexible paint and put it in my 4-door. Does anyone know if the 2-door vs 4-door makes a difference and should I change it out? Open to opinions. The tilt-telescope is a nice feature.

Painting CAN happen, just use the anti-hard shine additives to get the correct paint finish for the column itself. Acrylic enamel with hardener for the steering wheel, I suspect.

I would expect a bolt-in situation.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate the tips on what paint to use. I will also needs some vinyl paint for the padded horn bar that crosses that steering wheel. Wish I could find one that is the right color but they are hard to find anymore.
