Having hard time finding stock tire size for 65 NYer wagon. It has mopar non-stock tires on oversized rims. I do have a set of 14 inch rims off a parts car 65 NYer sedan. Thanks for any info.

8:55x14. no comparable 14 inch exists anymore. They were close to 29 inches tall. I have a couple NOS originals from 1970 just for comparison when I replace them. 15's are your only decent choice to stay close to original.

Coker Tire

This chart doesn't show the 9.00 x 15 but but not the 14. Based on other 14 to 15 conversions, it would be P235/75R14 or P255/70R14 but I can't find either of these sizes anywhere.

9.00x14 on 14x6.5" wheels.

The best long-term situation would be with some 15x6 wheels, P225/75R-15 tires, and Chrysler 15" wheel covers. The power disc brake cars in '66 used 15" wheels to clear the brake calipers. Otherwise, the Coker BFG 1" whitewall 9.00x14 repro tires would be the best option, from size and cosmetics.

I believe that Hankook builds some P215/75R-14 whitewalls, which is the size the non-factory a/c sedans came with. On the heavier wagon, you'd need to make sure you did NOT follow factory basic inflation pressures! Use more like 35psi all around.

As common as the H78x14 size was in the middle '70s, many brands were moving away form them back then, heading toward the "new" 15" wheels for factory disc brakes. And now, the tide is shifting more toward 17" wheels!

So, look around and see which way you'd desire to go.

I have 5 new hankooks sitting in the garage for my ‘65 Fury III wagon and the original 14” wheels at the sandblaster/powder coater.

Don’t be afraid of them.

I don't personally consider cokers as a realistic option, as they aren't the type of tires I would travel with. They are way too expensive as compared to 15 inch Toyos (they come in whitewalls as well) and driving I feel they are safer.

I'll concur that an "available" tire needs to be used for cars which are driven. Without the need for a wider whitewall, not a lot of need for any repro tires, to me. Seems like Diamondbacks are Toyos?

I knew nothing about them, until ny tire guy brought them up as they are sold on high end Japanese cars. They really Improved the ride and stability on my 77' Cordoba.(225-75) I am definitely removing the junky, and dangerous uniroyals on my coronet very soon.

I ho with the best rating on tirerack for tires
