just looking for some pointers on swapping out the old tired drum brakes.
Is there a direct swap? maybe from a later model, possibly a kit?
anyone done this conversion?

I bought my front disc conversion kit from pst. As a member of the forum you get 10% off. Orders over so much get free shipping. Mine is sitting in storage at the moment as the car is at a body shop close to getting painted. I went the conversion kit route as I didn't want to hunt and peck for parts. There are many ways to get front discs for the 65. It'll just become a matter of preference on which way you go.

I also bought a front end rebuild kit and a few other parts at the same time.

<-- 90% done on a weekend swap from front drums to the ECI kit for a 68 fury. if you are novice like me, out in the driveway with a jack and 2 stands... there is alot to it. for someone who is a mechanic or does brakes all day, it probably can be done in a couple of hours. the other members possibly saved my car and/or me from dying.... there are some key points to a brake swap that cannot be compromised or rigged up... my flex lines from the kit were too short, and i just used extenders, without using the stock frame-to-flex-line mounting bracket and clip. i have since relocated the mounting brackets to a better spot so the flex hose now reaches, and had to re-run the steel lines from MC to frame to accomodate. Also i had a potential area of rubbing on the flex line... it needs to clear everything while turning the wheel lock to lock. no flex line touch anything!

Thanks Saylor
My father in law is a retired Chrysler mechanic, so I have a good back up should I get into any trouble. Is it possible to get any pics of the progress? And maybe the total cost so far?

i put late model polara spindles and new rotors with reman calipers for it. then rear disc kit from summit for 450$ and a new set of lines and proportioning valve to find right front to rear brake balancing. plus new master cal. with two bays and extend your pedal shaft 1/4 inch. happy stopping if thats what you want to do.
