Found this by accident looking for an ad for that '78 NYB coupe in Poughkeepsie.
Looks like a very nice car. With a 440 to boot!
Talk about a sleeper!

Not too bad if this was your "must have"...

I'm struggling to accept "low original 49k mi. 440/727 auto."

Good, no need for A/C ..certainly not up there

49000 miles on a rebuilt engine...ok, the body looks it. Is it the original engine?

Ok as my handle states I love Dobas....I have even toyed with dropping a 440 into a 400 car BUT....it would have to be a console shift car without the Landau roof. What spoils this otherwise good looking original Doba for me is what C body gave up its heart to make it?

I would still drive it.....I wouldn't like it but I'd still drive it...:)

Why do you think it came from a C?

Because most Doba guys I've met are closet E Body or B Body worshippers and would perish the thought of desecrating one of those...me on the other hand well I just swim against the current ....that and it was just a guess really no evidence to support my statement lol

Note; appears to have HIPO exhaust manifold visible on drivers side. Looks interesting if I was not dealing on the '79 Magnum GT E58 T-top car.

440's not available in Cordoba's.

IF....it is the original engine....it's a 400.

That was my doubt and a question in the back of my head I knew the answer to . One of those answers you forgot long long ago. So then I guess I need a refresher without googling because its a crap shoot, when was the last year for a 440 Cordoba? Could it be had?

No 440 available in Cordoba in any year. Could get a 400 in all years up to 1978.

The F%@$#& asshat trashed the A/C

Manual A/C will be easy to put back together. The only hard part is to find a donor with all the correct mounting brackets. If it is a 440 you will need the brackets from a 440 Formal to make it work. My suspicion is that this engine is probably a 400. 400 and 440 A/C brackets are different and won't interchange. So either way...once you figure which engine you have you'll know whether you need 400 or 440 Formal brackets.

If they did it's not an original engine. And if they dropped a 440 in it I don't have a problem with that at all.
