Syracuse Nationals officially starts tomorrow. Syracuse Nationals

7000+ cars.

My '70 300 will be in the "Memories on Main Street" exhibit again in the "Science and Industry" building. Featured Events — Syracuse Nationals and my 300L will be parked out on the grounds somewhere.

I took the '70 over today and parked it in the building next to a Studebaker truck. The digs aren't quite as nice as in years past as they moved us to another building, but it's still good.

Perfect weather for a car show today with the weather in the 70's. I'm going back tomorrow morning for a bit, then I have another obligation in the afternoon.

I took a few pics, but mostly wandered around the grounds.

I do have to post the Jetson's car though...

Another year's show is done.

Almost perfect weather except for some rain that rolled through yesterday. Like Carlisle, Sunday is a very slow day, so the rain really didn't affect much.

@march and @cbarge were in attendance and I probably missed some others.

The good.... 7000 cars, all 25 years old or older. So many you can't see them all.

The bad.... Prices were up. Parking for spectators was $10 with one day admission (day of the show) being around $35. At $70 for a show car for 3 days and 2 people (again, day of the show) it's cheaper to enter a car. Talk is that New York State has upped their costs for the fairgrounds, but I also think that because the show is now being handled by promoters rather than enthusiasts, they are more about making money. Food prices seemed to be on par with other events and a decent selection, but the state closed the restaurant that was on the grounds, so that option of a good sit down meal in air conditioned comfort was gone. (Long political based story on that one)

The ugly.... While we've all gotten used to occasionally dodging some folks on handicap scooters (the vast majority are no problem), they have allowed a lot of other powered vehicles on site. I had a couple narrow misses with 20 somethings on 2 wheel electric scooters. Worse yet is the staff that drives around at warp speed in golf carts. One came close to hitting my car when they decided I was driving too slow on Saturday through a very crowded area. There are lots of people walking, including small kids and they don't seem to care. I see staff at Carlisle using golf carts, but they seem to a lot more careful and drive a lot slower. Since my golf cart dodging skills aren't what they used to be, this may have been my last year there.
