Just got done talking to the fella buying the Newyorker. I got a little bit of background on his dads car. He said his dad went to the dealership to buy a 68 Newport (in 68). He said his dad saw the nyer and decided on it. Turns out it was a Chrysler execs car. He also said its a little weird because the passenger front seat back on the bench seat folds flat and there is only one headrest on the pass side. I told him to introduce himself on here and tell his story. He said he poked around here a little bit. Turns out the charger he owned was actually bought back by Chrysler a few years ago. Interesting. At this point it's here say but I believe him. He's gonna bring some of the paper for his charger when he comes tomorrow. Cool story, I thought!

I wish I never sold my 68 Charger R/T... But it's at a better home, and I can see it. Mine was a black w/ red interior and red tail stripe.

Interesting story. You Michigan guys have all kinds of weird stuff over there.

I hear ya locumob! I can't express how much I appreciate the automotive heritage of my area! I mean this where it started! From the beginning of GM to the muscle car wars in Detroit ! Heck even Walter P. Chrysler spent time in Flint as the general manager of Buick!

I had a '68 Newport sedan when I was a teenager. My dad got in on the passenger side and tried to adjust the seat. When he pulled the lever at the side, the seat flopped flat back in one sudden motion. He laid there flat out staring up at the headliner. After several moments of silence, he finally looked over at me and casually said: "not exactly a birth control car is it?"
