Yep, that's for sure.

We had a shooting in Columbus a few years ago at a club. Some whacko killed Daryl from Pantera right on stage & was shooting up the place until a Columbus cop ran in with a shotgun & blasted the shooter in the face. That takes unbelievable balls to run in like that. Think of how many lives that officer saved with his bravery.

I have a lot of respect for the bravery of Law Enforcement and First Responders!!!

I used to but too many think they are above the law or should be looked upon as you look upon them Bob. They're just people doing a profession they chose to do with great pay, benefits and early retirement..............
Let the Dave beatings begin.............................................

I've experienced and seen enough to know there's a significant minority of cops that power trip. As a result I don't trust any of them. Looking good at the scene of the crime just doesn't cut it. A hero is the cop that prevents pieces of **** like those 2 from carrying out their plans.

You know who is a true hero?
A child of an elderly woman who takes their mother in during final years, sacrificing their own personal life, caring for them through times that would break most people, so that they're not warehoused in a decrepit nursing home. Because it's the right thing to do.

A 75 year old woman who still devotes herself to the full time caring of their husband with Alzheimers. Because it's the right thing to do.

A guy who hates sports who takes his son to a ball game.

A person who anonomously donates to a lesser known charity. Just does it without telling anybody out of their own pocket.

I could go on and on but it's 2335.....

All good!

Everyone has their definition of bravery/sacrifice/hero. And there are many.

I've seen bravery first hand.............many,many times.

I agree that there are rogue cops and others that think they are above the law and abuse their position of authority. Sooner or later they all get caught! The good cops and others far outweigh the bad ones in my opinion.

Stan, don't think that your military time reference went unnoticed.

Not every cop is corrupt..........

In my small town, the police will take you where you need to go if you dont have a ride. They will also pick up your prescription from the drug store if you are unable to make it. During the hurricane the chief took an elderly fellow to his daughters house ten miles away.
Of course most are not bad ...... the chest thumpers ruin it for all

We are 125 houses small

My little community, is one road in and same road out and there is about 120 residences. The city of Aberdeen is 13,000 and I live on the eastern edge of town. My backyard is protected woodlands, I have a deck that is 20'x20' and 12' off the ground and has a beautiful view of the woods.
