I found a TT rimblow wheel that looked to match my cracked one. It was attached to the entire steering column for sale on EBay for $175.

I contacted the vendor and he was amenable to selling me the wheel for $100 plus freight.

The wheel was from a 72 Imperial.

Wheel came with nice cover and only a few hairline cracks visible from the front.

My original wheel with a full crack and 3/8” gap. It was driving me crazy.

Installed.

Wheel is a slightly different color so it will be temporary until I get the original repaired.

Rimblow functions fine but rubber is a little stiff.

You did real good at that price... I'm still deciding if I should try to paint the one I found... I doubt it will hold up to much wear.

Leather is better... oh wait that was then and this is now. Today's covers are made of "Genuine Leather" and anyone with half a brain will know that means 'Bonded Leather' which will quickly deteriorate from the moisture of your hands, so then you can have a shitty cover over your shitty wheel!!!

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

"Temporary"? I'd call it a day. The colour looks pretty dang close to me, I honestly can't even see a difference, could be the photo's though. Some formula 303 may help soften up the rubber and never hurts regardless. Even a professionally repaired wheel will never be as good as a good original.

I don't care if you put on 30 coats of clear.
It won't.
With steering wheels, it just doesn't work that way.
I know, but I was just so friggin excited to find a good one, and at a fair price, I had to have it. TSA was more understanding than I would have expected, as I brought it home in my carry on.

Anyone want to trade for black?

Please tell me you held the steering wheel as if you were a race car driver and made whiney engine noises.
