We attended the Tennessee valley Mopar show in Huntsville Bama yesterday.
It was a beautiful day and there was a great turnout. It was held at the Huntsville dragway and regestration included use of the open track if desired.

There was a good crossover mix of Mopars. Lots of restro mods of course, and way to many "new" cars. A, B, E and even a few C bodys, some trucks and several race cars.

Everyone seemed to be having a good time, and Jazabelle was well received.
Here are the C body 1st, 2nd & third place class winners.

Nice, congrats! All three look exceptional.

I'd have had to pick you as 1st out of the 3 based only on info I can see from the other two in those pics .. I've seen your interior and it's beautiful, and a convert, and Red etc. I'm sure the other two are extremely nice too though. Congrats all the same !!

Will, knowing that you're a racer at heart.......

What was Jazabelle's ET & MPH??? LOL!

That 4dr must have been exceptional if it won over the two convertibles and very accurate neutral judges.

Thanks......
That 68 Newport was exceptionally well detailed. It had a 383 with HP manifolds and duals plus a dual snorkel air filter. The whole car just glissned..... And the 67 Sport Fury was also an exceptional restro.
I don't spend that much time on detailing.... and Jazebelle has had 5000 miles on her since November. So I was happy with the 3rd...... The trophy is more for Ellie...... I'd carry it over to the swap meet and try to trade it for something.
Still..... Two mopar shows and two awards is cool.

All I am saying Will is people dont mind a two ton car on the track. I myself am not a track guy, Aside from that photo I hadnt been there for 25 years.

I don't think I can stand the thought of beating any old car now.
The idea that I'm responsible for breaking it thus making me repair it is not in my books anymore. Hell, I slow down for speed bumps now. What has happened to me?

A 4 door won against 2 convertibles? I'm impressed. No offense to your car, but I like hearing when the 4 doors get some well deserved appreciation.

None taken......... That 68 Newport was top notch and deserved to win. I also take my hat off to the judging staff for their choice....... even after being offered donuts.....!

I tore up a lot of equipment back when it was new and readily available..... And it hurt to cough up the cash for stuff then.
I can't imagine what i'd feel like if a driveshaft let go because of abuse on a 45 year old car now.
NAAaaaaaa........ My thrills come a little slower speed now...... I hear ya Stan.... I guess it's the age/wisdom thing that plagues us.

I've been down a drag strip in under 10 sec. and driven 175 MPH on a closed course....Just not impressed by burnouts anymore......

I still slow down as little as possible for the curves... It's fun to plant the suspension and feel the tire tread squirming against the pavement.:steering:
