I sent a piece of my damaged stainless trim to a highly recommended guy in Kentucky. This was months ago and told him to hold on to it. The guy he knows well was going to be down it the spring.
Fast forward to today. I called him to ask if he to go ahead and ship it back to me, because my friend isn't going down until later. He said he sent it back to me a week after he had received it, months ago.
My heart dropped. He said he would look into it. I got a call back a couple of hours later. Mystery solved. He had sent the trim back to the UPS store I had shipped from, instead of my home address. UPS made no attempt to contact me and sent it back to the sender. Someone put my returned box on a shelf, in the body shop, and it was forgotten about.
It is now on it's way back to me. That was too close for comfort.
