Did the R134a swap, new compressor, dryer and expansion valve. Didn't have a T-stat as we didn't know it was needed at the time, so for now, I THINK he left the EPR valve in place. Ran the car for about 45 min yesterday and it was smooth and quiet. Didn't have a thermometer to check the vent temp, but it feels pretty good, not REAL cold, but good. If when I check the vent temp its not cool enough then I guess I'll go the T-stat route and remove the EPR and see if it gets any better that way, we'll see. Now, on to the next project....disc brakes. Thanks to all who helped with tech answers. IMG_0053.jpgIMG_0055.jpg

I'll go for a ride but I'd opt for the windows rolled down.
nice job on the install, it looks great.

I can't wait to finish mine on Friday. I have to flush the system, replace the H-block, receiver/drier, install new hoses, o-rings, gaskets, vacuum it down and charge her up.

I have some R-12 left...

I'm leaving it in. Even though my heater A/C box wasn't working (no air flow coming out of the vents) I was still getting 48 degree temps at the vent. So for now, I want to leave it in..I think it'll work just fine.

It's just that if you want to remove it later, you'll have to purge and capture the system.

Not a problem. If the system works properly with it in I'm going to leave it alone. If not I'll remove it and go the other route.

I got Jazebells A/C up and working yesterday.... Cools pretty good now. I lubed all the "O" ring seals when I reassembled the system and installed a new receiver dryer. She held a vaccuum for two days after evacuating the system for a couple of hours.... Then shot 40 oz.'s of R132...... 50 degrees at the center vent now but still some bubbles in the sight glass.... Maybe another 12 oz can will do it.

I've never used R132.

Under the hood....I had the hoses rebuilt, replaced the receiver/drier, H-block, and all the O-rings. I put in some ester oil and vacuumed it down for a few hours and put in 36 oz of R134A and I'm getting 44 degrees at the center vent.
