So for Carlisle 2025 the 1972 Imperial will be returning. This year’s trip is more filled out with more time before and after the show. She woke up for the first time this year on Sunday. The carburetor has been in purgatory since August 2024 when it was shipped off for a restoration and came back with a damaged primary fuel bowl. It started perfectly but leaked horribly at the fuel inlet fitting between the fitting and the bowl. An inspection showed the threads were pulled out. So back it goes.

Fast forward a month and a half later, the carburetor is still not back and when asked about the status they say they cannot locate a replacement. I just so happen to have a replacement fuel bowl and send it to them. So around Thanksgiving the carburetor comes back. I let it sit and take care of other things.

Christmas comes and I get it installed, and the car will crank and crank but won’t start. So I brain storm a few things while life moves on.

So last Sunday I go out there and swap the ignition module with a new one and the car fires back to life.

So the car sat all winter and I need to dig into a few issues popped up:

• Rear brakes loose fluid regularly
• Coolant leaks at water pump and heater hoses
• Rear brakes are noisy
• Steering gear worn and leaking
• A/C compressor has no power
• Cruise control stopped working
• Oil pressure gauge stopped working
• Fuel gauge inaccurate
• Safeguard Sentinel is having issues
• Auto-dimming headlamps don’t work
• Radio plays static and speakers need to be replaced
• Clock doesn’t work
• Right rear window doesn’t work intermittently and getting worse

This is in addition to an oil change, tire rotation and an axle lube replacement.
