I discovered this tidbit of info on the Thermo-Guard. Interesting since there is no info on Thermo-Guard's besides a reference of availability in the data book.

Heat and vibration are the leading killer's of battery life.

Chrysler's Thermo-Guard battery shield, used on all domestic engines, could reduce battery temperature rise up to 37% with the engine idling in city traffic. An opening in the shield permits cooling air to circulate between the battery and the shield.

There may be some people that don't know what a Thermo-Guard looks like since most of them were thrown away. Will, thanks for being so generous and giving me one!

I have a decent battery tray and support bracket from the El Paso NY'er that I media blasted and primed and shot with undercoating. I've also have a complete factory battery hold down assembly. A new negative battery cable. And Will was gracious to donate the Thermo-Guard that was in pretty darn good shape. I media blasted it and shot it with clear. I found a couple of Thermo-Guards over the last couple of years that were busted up or cracked so bad that they were useless.
