I've been following along on this one and the craftsmanship is incredible but I'm still just not sure why you'd want to do it even considering the historical value.
 
Not really a fan, but I guess since they could, they did, but after seeing the results it's clear why Ma didn't. Kind of like this ugly stepchild that never was:

So, many years from now, when it is dragged out of a dusty garage ("barn" find, if you will) our great grand children's children will debate endlessly whether or not this is the prototype from 1970 or some hobbyists re-creation. That's what he meant by the quote "talk of the automotive world"...
