Let me start by saying that I know there are worse conditions out there but....I live in Texas and this ain't right! I was going to take the few things I have left to get chromed on Tuesday. It was such a beautiful day that I decided not to drive the 2 hours it would take. Skies were blue and it was around 70 degrees. More like a spring day. Sooo...I planned on doing it today. Lesson learned...don't put off anything for another day. Blah, blah, blah.

It's zero and windy today in Detroit.

I am blessed in that I have a roof over my head, a nice fire going. Homemade duck potpie going in the oven. Not going to ruin all that by driving my little miata next to a 18 wheeler on ice covered roads. Both my 2 major accidents were with 18 wheelers. One with the monaco and one with my 77 camaro (that one got cremated). I'll just keep catching up on ya'lls posts Ya'll are funny.

Wow, even more winter in Texas than in germany... Until now, no snow here... I don't need it but that weather is weird...

Marion, that dusting won't last an hour on the roadways before melting.
Duck Pot Pie you say????????? MMmmmm

I am now asking myself why I'm not on my way down to help put her car back together...

For those that have never travled in Tejas. Let me tell you ah couple thingz 'bout the way they build their big roadz down there. For some unknown reason they seem not to know that if you build a road with a crown in the middle the bad crap will run off to the berm and maybe soak in tah the caliche! Theirz one other building technique they practice ALLLLL OVER The Lone Star. Marian, Tell all these good folks what happens on FLY OVERS if they get wet or get ah little of that white dust on 'um. I'm done, Jer

I must say the look on his face was priceless !!!! it was like WTF !!!! where's all the grass ???

LOL we have a Dachshund and she really doesn't like anything over a dusting. Had a boarder collie, snow like you have there and it would take a half an hour to get him back in house.

Well said my dear. I wonder how many even know what ah fly Over are. You gonna havta tell 'um 'cuz Im' sceered. Yeah think Texdot's learned and improved their building technique with the new ByPass around Austin? Letz hope. I rented ah room one time at the Holiday Inn at Mopac and 183 when I knew the white crap waz comin' so I could watch the Bumper Derby. Darned if they didn't barricade both endz of 183 at the first flake!

Not sure if that lesson has been learned... I drove the SH130 toll bypass (85 mph limit!) all the way from round rock to Seguin this morning and it was like a sheet of glass the whole way. As a crusty old friend used to say, if my butt had teeth I'd have chewed right through the seat...
