I've been perusing the local Seattle Times newspaper archives and found that I can search on pretty much any term and get results, like for instance, 1970 440-6-barrel. Ok, so I didn't get any hits when I used 6-barrel, but I did get some hits for 6-pack... This first one was in the 1970 Times:

And how about this one, also in 1970:

*sigh* Where's my wayback machine?

I did run across an ad I put in the paper in 1980 for my '61 Chrysler 300-G. I don't remember what I actually got for the car. Probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 18-2200...

Yea, makes today's ads for fuel economy and freakin Facebook connectivity look down right whimpy. The dodge dart has flowers blooming in the speedometer readout. Yea.

I'll be the first to say it because I don't think there's anything wrong with it.
Legacy costs. One worker supporting 11 pensioners.
Hey guys. You knew what you were signing up for.
Payday comes you all of a sudden go bankrupt and the original signees retire to the Bahamas. And we believed you.
Thanks......

Awesome ad. Completely busy with life, shop, and mom in the hosptial, but here is a teaser.

I am filling a pond with crushed concrete with my loader. One of the loads had a wadded up newspaper in an old cinder block. Yellow but legible. Palm Beach Post, July, 1955. As soon as I get time there is an 1/8th page ad from a local Chevy dealer, and more importantly, a full page ad from a local yet defunct Dodge dealership. As soon as I get the time to snap some pics and load them to FB, I'll get em posted. C Body Bob said you guys like pictures.

Fuselage.de has a ton of classic fusie ads on the site. I had a folder on my external hard drive with several thousand classic car ads from a 1910 Studabaker electric car up to one for a Gremlin. I spent a lot of spare time in korea finding and saving them, but the external has suffered a terrible death and they're all gone...

I paid $1750 for my 69 Super Bee in 1971. Traded the Bee in on a brand new 1973 Ralleye Challenger with 340 Magnum for $3600.

I would give 10 times that today to have her back. Probably cost 20 times that if I did find her.

My wife got pretty excited when she saw the 1st ad for the then just out '71 Mach 1 so I ordered her one! Ran out of linez on the order form and somebody on the assembly line took notice of everything that one waz comin' down the line with and thought that a '71 Cougar rim blow wheel would be a nicer touch then the 'Stang rim blow as ordered. I actually liked that runnin' Cougar across the two spokes of that wheel better then the 'Stang but the dealer said it ain't gonna be delivered that way and 24 hourz later I got the car ah day late with the correct 'Stang wheel, DAM! Think I paid just ah tad over $4500 for that one and that waz an unheard of price for any new car back in '71 but she loved it and drove the wheelz off it 'til the cancer worm got tah hurtin' it real bad so I traded it for the 1st year Cordoba in '75 with Corinthian Leather of course. 4 yearz newer and only $500 more. Too bad yeah can't buy smokez 3 packs fer ah buck anymore either ain't it? I'm gonna take ah nap now, Jer
