I have a 1969 Newport would like to know the back spacing that would work with 275-60-15 tires on an 8 inch oe wheel

I know for a 69 polara/Monaco with 275 you can use 4 inch backspace , because the e body axle.
In 1970 they were wider.

Ok I will look into that what tire size can I run on the front to fill out tha wheel arches

That is nearly a 28 in. tire. How will that alter your speedometer readings? What was the stock tire size?

who looks at their speedo anyway? seriously though a mopar manual for your year of vehicle will give you the correct colour of the speedo gear in your transmission you need to match your rear end ratio and tire size.

I had to work all that out on anouther car
It was just a matter of working out the right seedo gear it was simple once you see the formula
Anyone got any idea for the front I would like to get a 255/60-15 on an 8 inch wheel has anyone done this? Any idea of back spacing for this?

Zero offset or on a 8 in wheel 4 in backspace is fine in almost every case.

Would I get a 10 inch wide wheel with 5.5 inch back space under the back arch with 275s?
Has anyone tried?
