Ok guys heres another one. Anybody use the trans seal removal tool? Mine just came today so I set about removing linkage and happy as a clam that I didnt have to remove tranny to replace leaky seal. 20 minute job. Right? Not so much. An hour later I still havent replaced seal or even got it out.. Heres the deal. Pic 1 shows shifter exposed ready to put tool on. Pic 2 shows just how far I can get tool on before it goes no further. I can WD-40 the snot out of it. Twist and turn the blank ought of it. It refuses to go any further to get to seal. My question is am I stupid? Am I doing this correctly? It seems straightforward. Thread onto seal. Attach nut and tighten until seal comes out. Then use other part of tool to hammer in new seal. Thing is the other part (of tool) doesnt not fit over shifter either. Is it possible I have wrong tool? Am I doing it wrong? Do I hammer the removal tool onto seal then thread or should it smoothly slide on? Do I need to file inside of tool so it fit easily? Thanks for any help. Time to remove jacks and crack a Coors Light. Thanks Tim.

The tool should drop right over the shaft and go all the way down to the seal. Either the tool is the wrong size or maybe the shaft is peened over at the top? The tool I have slips right over and I've used it on 4 or 5 cars.

Krap I dont think the shaft is bent. I guess I will try to shave the inside a bit. I will doublecheck website on order. Thanks for the reply.

My trans is D32 code which is `heavy duty automatic trans` so I am still assuming it is a 727. The tool is for a 727 but designates a 36 RH or 37 RH I dont know what that means. Any thoughts? I guess I should have done a little more research before ordering tool, but I suppose I may learn a little something here.

36RH 3= three speed. 6= torque rating. R= rear wheel drive. H= hydraulic shift.
