My turn signals were working fine. Then when I go to get an inspection sticker of coarse they are not. My bulbs are good, I replaced the flasher relay , checked all fuses, and still nothing. Test light shows the black wire to the relay is bright with power but the red wire that goes to the column is dim. Bad ground in the column, or bad switch?

Maybe a connection loosened on the way over? That's what happened to us with our '55 F500.

The test light being dim (assuming it's not flashing) is normal for the feed into the column. When it flashes, it should be flashing bright.

Check your grounds at the lights first, then check the plug at the column. Check all the wiring and if all is good, most likely it's the turn signal switch. Oh.. and check the bulbs too... You never know.

To check the switch, check continuity between the red wire from the flasher to brown and tan wires when the turn signal is right. Red wire to dark green and light green when the signal is left.

That's assuming the wire colors are the same as my 70.
