Should be fun I guess my 300 will be used in some tv show tomorrow for some show on ABC. My buddy taking it for the shoot. I have to work. Some crime show. They are paying 250.00 for a few hours. He does odd jobs so let him keep the money. I trust him with the 300. Only thing that sucks I have to in a cold garage put the stock wheels on it. I have him take some pictures.

Is that the new remake of the old "GONE in 60 SECONDS" ??? :poke:

LOL better not smash my 300 up! No it some crime fighter show set in late 60's early 70s so 68 would be a good one. Here in Austin hard to find anything different then a mustang or camero. They wanted "normal" cars, cant have a shoot with all of one kind of car, doesnt look natural. Its been used in a couple different movies in the background. Outside of HW there are a lot of films shot here. So far hasnt made it into "big screen films" just b level stuff. After they see it one of the caracters may actully drive it so that will be cool, however they probably dont realize how big it is. usually when a director sees it he/she puts in in the distance because of its size. Plus with the flowmasters they dont like how loud it is. We'll see what they do with it.

I went with the smaller disc on purpose so I could put the 14" back on. I knew the front would fit no problem as I also had the 14s on my coronet but was worried about the rear, but no clearance problems (just had to "tickel" the ebrake hook up down a bit as it barely touched the rim). Car looks so different with the small wheels on it, almost silly even tho that was what was supposed to be on it.

Stan and yes my buddy wouldn't dare to let it out of sight. However she could use a paint job so if ABC messes it up im sure they are well insured. :)

What brakes did you go with? I would like to have disc eventually...... but want to keep my 14" wheels for stock look, and cost.

SSBC front 4 piston drilled/slotted and got the rears from Performance on line drilled/slotted but single piston.. the kit for the b body the same. have to sorta fab up a bracket for the ebrake cables, not hard to do. I used my drum cables and made them work. Only thing SSBC are jerks and difficult to work with, however nice brakes. You MUST use a 68 PB booster that is DUAL diaphram. I battled with my brakes until I removed the single. They had no power. Even after that I think I still need a smaller bore MC, but currently they work well and a huge imporvement over the drums. Honestly you dont need rear disk but with my 20" wheels I didnt want drums in the back.

Some of the period cars seen in TV & movies is silly. A scene set in 1964 looks funny w/ all 1962-64 cars in the background. Did everyone drive an almost new car back then? My family drove a 1955 Olds in 1974. It only looked dated because cars had changed to square bodies by the late 1960's, and it was amazingly smooth on the highway. The old Hawaii Five-O is hilarious, when McGarrett leaves in 2 door and arrives at the next scene in a 4 door, or a different model year. They shot the scenes months apart and nobody on set noticed or cared.

Watch the Rockford files and you'll see that happening all the time..... I guess they figured no one would notice

Sad to say, but almost everyone I know that have loaned their cars out for filming have had something go wrong and getting the production company to make good on it is a battle. To the production company, it's just another prop. Hopefully, you have a positive experience but I'm with Stan on this one and would take it a step further to say I'll never allow my cars to be used for a film or TV shoot.

I had three used in a film in 2010 called Heaven's Rain, and had zero issues. Either my wife or I were with the cars on a continuous basis over a three-day period, and my son was with his pickup for the one day it was used. Assuming we could arrange the same treatment in another shoot, I'd be all over it. EXCEPT if a shoot were to include people sitting ON the car versus IN the car, then I'd say "no".

Advance to :36 to see my Coronet in the opening scene of the movie. It's in the film another three times, and the wife's '78 NYBS is in a scene that lasts about three seconds, as one of the principals drives up to a parking space at the prison.

My buddy just had to doa series of drive bys. Funny tho they had him kill the engine when he rolled by because the exhaust was too loud, shook the camera lol. I didnt like that cuz he would loose the power brakes down a hill! Anyway hope I get to see it.
