Looks like somebody finally "Saw the light"
With regard to photographing their car.

This is a freaking unicorn. It's a non vynil Crown Coupe that's not green or brown, whoever gets this will make a hell of a deal

At first glimpse it seems like a nice car, and a reasonable deal, but then you notice all that rust and corrosion under the hood, and begin to wonder how much rust there is underneath. After all, the one photo shot in the dark barn shows the car buried into the ground, with the bellyside against the moist ground. One wonders, for how long it was exposed to those conditions?

That's the problem with these "barn finds". The owner parks, what looks like must have been a perfectly good survivor- good body panels and bumpers, decent interior. But then leaves it on dirt and the moisture destroys it from underneath. A friend of mine who has some trailer queens won't even park his cars on a cement floor, because cement is porous and will cause moisture damage. He parks the cars in a building with solid vinyl flooring.

Rear wheel wells look alright - at least from the angle. Door panels look nice. Dash isn’t cracked. Doors aren’t rusting through. Quarters are sure to have some problems. Rear frame rails would be suspect. Trunk as well.
Fenders look alright but would need closer inspection. Car is non-vinyl so rear window channel you’ll have a leg up over a vinyl car.

I believe the rust under the hood is mostly surface rust from moisture. Maybe the head from the engine helped cook the paint away and the moisture started the rusting. It can be cleaned up easily. The moisture maybe came from if it was parked near the Great Lakes? Or maybe that barn wasn’t climate controlled.

From the old pictures of the car in the barn I would take a SERIOUS LOOK at the exhaust system, stub frame, control arms, axle and drive components.

Being parked inside on "dirt" is better than under a carport where water can run under the car, accumulate leaves, etc. IF the dirt ever did get wet, as it might outside, THAT could be a more serious situation. The weight of the car will bury itself in the soft ground, no matter where it might be, over time.

Unfinished/un. coated concrete has it's negatives, too. Like rising moisture with temp swings. Insulated slabs and hard surface coatings can greatly minimize that. Being out of the sun is a plus, too. Car CAN be nice, but it'll take a good bit of "work".

"all kinds of upgrades"
You mean you drug it out of the barn ... or you hosed it down? ... or both?

Sorry buddy. Still not a $5,000 car as big of a sucker for a 1970 300 non vinyl as I am. Get it running, man.... sh** say ANYTHING concrete about it's condition, physically or mechanically rather than just describing what I can clearly see in the crappy photos.

What a frustrating ad.
