who is the expert at decoding 12 digit vin#s heres one for you. cm2763138166

The 6 is probably a letter and I'm not so sure about the other numbers either....

73 Chrysler convertible made at Lynch Rd. If the 6 is a G the engine code is a 318

Since they didn't make a Chrysler convertible in 73... or one with a 318.

It should be 13 anyways, you might want to double check and get back to us with the accurate number.

It would be CM27J63138166, assuming your 300 has a 440. Double-check, as I'd bet this is your VIN. It MUST be 13 characters.

CM = Chrysler 300
27 = Convertible Coupe
J = 440 ci
6 = 1966 MY
3 = Build Plant
138166 = This is the 38,166th car off that plant's line for the '66 MY.

The VIN sequential numbering order for ALL lines starts at 100001. This does NOT mean yours was the 38,166th 300 off the line, as 300 and Imperial were both built at the same plant.

That's because it's missing, there should be a letter after the CM27. Could be a 383 which would be a G.
