Vintage tire wear machine

Got this tire wear machine from a junk pile.
It has a large base that you drive on and somehow measures tire wear with indicator arrow.

If your tires push or pull as you drive over/on it pushes exaggerated guage to show your wearing your tires.

Oh yeah that's scuff gauge. There should be little teeth in the slot on the part that's driven over. A shop out here that I dealt with had one of those, however it was a Bear unit. They still used it.
