I am looking for a 1971 Polara front bumper and taillight housings in the Midwest. Would be interested in a whole parts car if the price was right. I am trying to get a Nebr. State Patrol 2 Dr hardtop on the road again. It's been sitting in a junkyard since around 1985. I'm interest in various other parts also. Thanks!

Welcome to the board, first of all we need photos of your car.....I do anyway. I'd like to see what a Nebraska Highway patrol car looks like.

I might have a rechromed one - it's either a 70 or 71. Price would be in the $200-$250 range and I'm in Northern Illinois - interested?

the 70 and 71's are different. Though they will fit the grill tabs vary from year to year.

I know that - I'm just not sure which one I have and I'm not really going to check unless someone's interested. With my luck it's probably a 70 anyway.

I know, but it always seems like I have the wrong one when there's some small variation between years . . . .

Where the hell is " Packratistan " ? ( I get it, just curious where your from in case I need that bumper)

Packratistan is located in Dixon, Illinois. It's a small country who's main exports are classic car parts and rechromed bumpers. :70s_rule:

I haven't owned a C body for quite a while now myself and don't have much for them sitting around any more except for the rechromed bumpers. I probably have about 30 of them from around 65-74. Hate to hijack somebody else's thread, though - whatever happened to the guy that started this thread - I thought he wanted a bumper???

Yeah - he prolly wanted it fer nothin and dropped off in front of his garage - I get a lot of those.

Maybe that'll get him back. :yaayy:

I'm still here and interested. I've just been working alot and haven't had any free time to get on here. I don't know the difference between the 70 and 71 though. Does anyone have pictures of them side by side or measurements for the grille mountings. PM me, AMC PackRat with some pictures.

They both look the same on the outside but the 71 has tabs along the inside edge to mount the grill - the 70 doesn't. At least that's what my book says.

Well, here's a quick pic of the bumper. I'm pretty sure it's a 71 because it does have the grill mounting tabs like my book says. It's super straight with a good shine but it's been around for a while and has some minor defects from handling and storage. The batteries in my camera are pretty much dead but I can probably get some more pics if you think this will work for you. I can do $200 on it if you can pick it up - shipping would be extra.
