Need some help on proper method on removing the leading edge chrome & rubber strip that’s attached to the rear door glass. It’s the piece that, when front and rear window are fully raised, forms a seal between the windows. I’m unsure what it’s called, but it appears it may just be attached with glue. I don’t want to break the window Both passenger and driver side pieces need to be restored with new rubber. Many thanks for any advice.

It should just pull out - it's only held in there by friction. It's an extrusion with a profile that essentially mimics the shape of the metal channel it sits in.

Thank you, Ross. Should I just be removing the rubber strip from the chrome piece? I thought I’d need to remove the entire unit from the glass itself?

My Monaco also had a small screw at the bottom that secured it to the metal window bracket. Probably just to help position the trim. I used a little adhesive and slid it back on.

I'll look a bit closer and see if there is indeed a small screw. Sometimes my eyes have trouble seeing the small things! Thanks!

Yes just remove the rubber strip and clean-up the metal channel. Cut-to-fit replacement rubber strips are available.

Mike, thank you very much! I just removed the large molded rubber piece at the bottom and the weatherstripping slid down and out. Easy! Now to find who might sell the stuff. I’m close to finishing my baby - if one is ever truly finished

National Moparts calls them "quarter window division seals", which may help in your search. They sell some but the closest application they list for these is 65-68 C-body 4-door hardtop. Possibly you need seals with a different shape.

Quarter Window Weatherstrips, C Body

In the US, DMT sells these also, but for the same 65-68 application. DMT manufactures some of the parts that they sell. You could try contacting them to ask about your application.

Mopar - C Body 1965-68 - Detroit Muscle Technologies, LLC

I can’t thank you enough! I’m going with the flocked ones from Detroit Muscle first. I’ll post ‘yea’ or ‘nay’ on them after they arrive. ‘Division seals’ - I’d have never guessed that particular name. Thanks again!
