My name is Mark, and I'm a recent transplant to NC from Salem, MA, where you can listen closely and hear classic cars rotting into oblivion. My late brother-in-law was a Mopar muscle-car guy, he built some nice 440s back in the '80s, one of which he stuck in a '70 Polara ex-Mass State Police car, and I caught the bug from him. I've had a few big cars over the years - '70 Bonneville 455HO sedan, 80 Coupe deVille 368, '94 Grand Marquis 4.6, but the tinworm was always a factor, especially with the Caddy.
So as soon as the family and I settled in here in NC, I went looking for one of those "clean Southern cars" I used to drool over in the Car Trader monthlies. I found this beauty up in the Blue Ridge in Virginia. It's a '77 NYB 400 4bbl, a survivor with only 37K, original paint with a couple of touch-ups and some minor surface rust. It needed a new ignition module and distributor, an idler arm and a window motor to get it running well. I'm really looking forward to ironing out the few remaining bugs and keeping on top of the maintenance so I have a cruiser to take the family out and enjoy this beautiful part of the country.
