Welcome, megalomotors

Thank you! Just recently acquired a 1972 Chrysler Newport Royal from Ohio, driving it back to York, PA last Friday. No issues, smooth ride!

If this car looks familiar, its because it was offered for sale here on this very forum

1972 Chrysler Newport Royal 440 4bbl with 49K Miles - $4950

additionally, it appeared in a Reddit "Roast My Car" sub the previous owner submitted it to several years ago:

Most recently on Barnfinds (discovered a day or two after I discussed purchasing from the previous owner, a great guy, BTW)

440-Powered 1972 Chrysler Newport Royal

Its a helluva find, I am stunned!

I am also on ForAbodiesonly as Dartified, as I also have a '72 Dart Custom Sedan seen here at the Chryslers at Carlisle Mopar Survivors exhibit in 2024:

So this is CL41T2C171267 — your car is rare in two ways. One, she’s FQ5 turquoise — a beautiful color but a rare choice in 1972. Two, she’s got a 440 — again, few Newports came that way.

Thank you also for posting your window sticker in the showcase. Very very nice options, especially the A35 trailer towing package and the D91 sure grip.

I learned the Newport was purchased with the intention to pull a trailer and was not primarily a daily driver. Which explains no air (Ohio, trees, rivers, lakes) Royal not Custom, but 440, Sure-Grip, Towing. Rear defrost and heat. Perhaps buying a well equipped but base model allowed for the trunk release, lighting package, wheels skirts, vinyl top, cloth seats, stainless and chrome brightwork and tinted glass. ‍*Shrug n' lol*
