Welcome, StoredForDecades

Join me in welcoming @StoredForDecades to FCBO.
Thank you. I'm glad to be here although I found FCBO for a disappointing reason.
I am the fourth owner of a 1965 Fury. It was purchased new by ODECO as a company car. When they sold it, my grandfather bought it. When he sold it, my dad bought it. It was then given to me for my college graduation.
Being the tinkering type, I decided to rebuild the engine. I don't recall any engine problems but that didn't stop me from disassembling it. I had just about completed the rebuild when I relocated to Texas and had to leave my car behind. I retrieved it a couple months later but, over the winter, the engine froze and the block cracked. I bought a used block and started over.
As too often happens, life intervened and time (lots of time) passed. I am now retired. Boy, that went by fast.
That was my first engine rebuild. Had I left well enough alone, I could have been driving my car all that time but I did learn a lot from rebuilding that engine.
I now have time to work on my car but, unfortunately, I am no longer able to do so. I can't justify continuing to pay for storage when I don't have any real hope of finishing the job. I still hate to part with it though!
