Hello, I'm new to the forum and I'm trying to locate possible engine options/combo's for the 62 880. I've got a lot of experience with the B Bodies for 62-65 but very little with the "C's". I'm currently looking at a 62 Custom 880, 2 Dr. Hardtop, the thing is it appears to be an original 413, 2 X 4, long ram, 3 speed car. I know 383 short rams were put together in 61. Bud Faubel ran one in NHRA stock eliminator. It's rumored he replaced the short ram motor mid year with a 413 long ram. I've found articles in old Hot Rod magazines that confirm the parts to put those 61's together NHRA legal existed. I can't find anything to confirm the car I'm looking at might be original. It's also a clear 62 title but appears to have a 61 grille but definitely 62 tail lights. If it's factory or dealer built I'm guessing it's a really rare car, anyone know where I can locate some documentation or how to decode the VIN on a "C".
