Nearly had a kidney stone when I saw what I have already spent and what I still need to buy.

Still have $293.73 worth of parts to go get from Nigel a National Moparts.

Nick

Who knows after the smoke clears :steering:

I never keep track of what I am spending and hope there is car money in the checking account after the bills are paid. I don't want to think how much I'm putting into the car. It's kind of hard to avoid thinking about what you are spending however, when you start writing some big checks. I always pay cash or check for the big items and just put items on a card for the stuff I buy on-line.

I know a few people that keep track of every penny and hour they work on the car. If I kept a list like that and my wife found it she would kill me.

I keep the receipts but I have zero desire to total them up.
It would only kill my desire to keep going.

I keep track on the receipts but not labor hours...that I truly don't want to know!

I've got a bunch of receipts for Jazebelle's restro but never added them up. Might be scary. During the process I bought a complete parts car that I parted. That really offset the cost and yielded some nice additional optional equipment for her.

Labor....? I concider it therapy.

I have receipts all over the place. I don't want to know he total either.

The higher priced stuff sticks in memory, the small stuff I kindly forget.

The dd driver a 240 Volvo station has every receipt for every nook and cranny since new, that's where I followed through, I once started to add up since our ownership in 1999 about a year ago and I did 99 % myself. I already forgot again but it was near five figure Euro range during about 100 k miles as I'm about as anal with the dd as with the other cars.

A restoration shop would have charged you 3x that and it wouldn't have come out half as nice.

I agree with Stan, I've got at this point a little over $360 into my Fury and I was told just around 10K for body, my buddy still needs to get his hands on some of the stuff and then the whole car, but he told me around $500 if I bring the car to him rough bodyworked.

I got a folder in my file cabinet crammed full of receipts......I never keep running track b/c I don't want to know how much the total is so far. I would scold myself.

I have kept all my receipts too, but I keep them in a monthly personal file folder with my other receipt so I won't be tempted to add them all up. I don't part with cars so I don't need them to show a potential buyer. In fact I have put my 300 already in my will, to leave to my cousin's kids, so no one needs to know including me.

That's the way to do it!!
