Actually just starting to use You tube for videos. Believe it or not the video camera I bought 5 months ago I haven't used yet but had my camera with me today. I'll be using the video camera for longer walk around videos in the future.

That's cool. Do you get to press the warning buzzer button too? :D

Most definitely, not to mention climbing down to deck 6&7 to open up all the valves to the tanks and pumps before powering up the system. We don't have it on auto so one needs to go down and transfer the 3500 gallons of oil back from the low pressure container to the high pressure one after every full cycle. From there you activate the elevator from a position right next to the pit on the hanger deck level once another power switch is flipped. Then when done all is shut down to prevent oil from bleeding away,

Damn that was fast. Very cool thanks for sharing

Very cool...Thanks for sharing!! You have been OK'd to film this stuff? Sure it's no secret...but you can never be sure what they think. ;)

Looks to be the foredeck of the USS Hornet on display in the Bay Area.

Link to pictures of the lower decks of 5-7.

For orientation the Hanger Deck is considered the Main Deck or 1. Everything below is called Deck 2,3,4,5,6,7,8. Space between 7 and the bottom 8 is narrow to say the least. Everything above the Hanger Deck is started with O so there is O1 and O2 above the Hanger but below the Flight Deck. The Flight Deck is also O3 and then the Island goes from O3- O11. So that would be 18 decks top to bottom. Machinery compartments, middle of the ship, span from deck 5-7. Diagram is for WWII ESSEX class and still represents below the Hanger Deck as the Island has changed dramatically since WWII.

Bob, might you be more interested in the Gedunk? Translation the ice cream & soda fountain shop that all carriers have. We pulled a functional ice cream machine from the Reserve Fleet to replace our missing one.
